Tales Of Ancient Greece : LoversA Story by Cynthia Wolff
In moonlight mist, I make my way across the courtyard. Summer crickets strumming their love songs. The sky is clear and the stars claim witness to this enchanting night as I quietly enter your room.
You lay fast asleep so I wake you with a tender kiss. Our love drowning out the cruel world. I beg you to run away with me but the fear of your brother casts a gloom upon your radiant face. Then I understand why as he enters the room, furious at seeing us together. More raging than a minotaur. You plead with him to not hurt me as I manage to somehow escape. "I will not rest until you are mine my beloved." I murmur to myself as I staunch the bleeding from your brother's horse whip upon my back. I will suffer a thousand lashes for you, my love. © 2022 Cynthia Wolff |
