The 27 Club

The 27 Club

A Poem by CSchwipps

The nice thing about life is it can always be ended

whenever I want.

I put a gun in my mouth

It wasn’t

loaded. I just wanted to know

what it felt like. The rush

when I pulled the trigger. Heard

the click. That’s how simple it can be.

Could be.

If I ever found the apathy to do it.

It takes a true lack of sympathy and caring to end it

all. Maybe I’ll find it.

No more pain, bills, endless job searches for

endless careers I care nothing about to pay for

things I don’t want. I don’t want this. Nobody wants

This. Asks for it. Nobody wants

A broken, bleeding heart.

Yet here we are

At the end

of hope.

It’s the final destination. We can’t

come back.

But why

would I want to?

I’m ready to join the club.

I really like this and how you used the “Hollywood curse” to be the title. Very well written. Strong voice.
