Mad HatterA Poem by CSchwippsYou may have seen inspiration in my other works from Lewis Carroll. His mad and curious world and colorful characters has always been a source of wonder for me. Here we take the perspective of one. It’s time for my special tea, MY special tea, my specialty with words and ways and biscuits Try some. Love some. Don’t forget to try it, though you will try to forget it. Tick tock, smell my sock slip your lips around my China set and ideas. Sip, sip, sip, sip. The secret ingredient is acid. It helps me hear rainbows and see the wind. Look at how the time flies right in front of your eyes It’s no surprise… Surprise! A queen bee eating candle’s wax and I’ve just enough honey left for cake. Isn’t that positively astounding? A very un-birthday celebration indeed! Drink up, drink up Drink up! Don’t dawdle my friends, with your fancies and hopes. Dream the dream but don’t gaze too long, It never pays to be late, in fact it doesn’t pay at all. But then again, neither do I, Don’t let your head roll too far. Someone might come along and make a pot out of it. Clankity-clunk goes a spoon swirling tea where your brain used to be. A dab of jam on burnt toast and my kingdom will be complete! What a thing to say, what a thought to think My dear, aren’t you thirsty? Drink up, Drink. © 2018 CSchwipps |
