Ode to Breaking Free

Ode to Breaking Free

A Poem by C.S.John
"

What "Breaking Fee" is misunderstood for...

"
I'm running to freedom,
trying to escape boredom
with short-time romance
at some high-school dance.

Alcohol, drugs and cigarettes,
lost principles and Russian roulettes,
enjoying my new identity
and creating new philosophy.

Between cheating on friends,
meaningless one-night stands
I'm making love to loveless makers,
giving love to heartless takers.
Waking up at 4 a.m. on kitchen floors,
breaking through discretion and closing doors.

Just as long as I am here
I'm going to keep up this atmosphere;
not thinking, just doing and having fun,
until all deals break and the end has come.

Author's Note

C.S.John
This poem is about what I found adolescence and growing up is misunderstood for these days by the adolescent and soon-to-be-grownups themselves. Interested to know what you think about it...
