Into The Arms Of God The Frail Are WelcomedA Poem by RaeVinn In her last days, Chad was amazed at the silent strength of this
frail gentle soul who had so shaped and influenced his life. Despite
the protests from her doctor she had insisted on being at home, insisted
on being allowed to die with dignity and would not allow herself the
respite from her pain by the use of drugs. ‘No drugs!’ she would say,
‘pain is part of life and I must feel it in order to truly know gods
true purpose. Jesus never asked for drugs to hide from his pain, never
asked for mercy, but in the end found the answers that allowed him to
forgive those who could not understand that greater purpose. I will not
be denied; I will know and understand god’s greater purpose for my
pain.’ No one ever asked if she wanted something for her pain again. © 2016 RaeVinn |
