The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by C.O.B

You are so calm,
So soothing
Slyly alluding us into trusting you
The great blue
The vast sea
The monster that tosses the debris
Of my mind,
Watching the waves intertwine into
Ideas
Into things I have never thought of before
Mocking my attempt to balance war
And insanity
And the f*****g calamity that is life.
It is one that is so instilled with strife
Self-inflicted with the knife edge tightrope
I walk on every day
Who’s to say today I won’t fall.
Just let gravity do it all
and to sleep
To die
Maybe I should say goodbye…

No. Not tonight
I still have a war to fight
I still have a storm to face
and death to fear,
and even though direction isn’t clear
I still have hope
It is the light that is keeping me going
without knowing what lies ahead.
That being said I hope that the storm does clear
Because one thing I do fear
Is that my candle will go out.

Help me out
