Hope

Hope

A Poem by C.O.B

You delved into the dark, dank, depths of depression
And what did you find?
You found hate and sorrow, you were full of regret,
Almost lost your mind.
The world was on your shoulders, baring down upon your soul,
Straining beneath the weight.
And in the depths of darkness, you saw no light
Only agonising fate.

But friends and lovers came, to bare the burden you bore,
Your shoulders felt free,
They showed you the light of life and the love of living,
And you were as happy as can be.
Then you saw a friend, baring the burden you once bore,
Heading down a steep slope.
But you gave him a hand and freed his soul,
And showed him the power of hope.
