I am AtlasA Poem by TheFatMasterGunnA poem
I am Atlas and
I saw the sky fall upon us. I did not flinch. The world around me screamed and ran while i took my stance. If no one would do it, I should. The weight was much but I did not back out. The years pass and my strength has grown yet the weight is still the same and more. My body is strong but my spirit is weak, and the world is still unchanged, they have forgotten about me and the sky above them. During these days I have grown weak in spirit and mind, grown wary of humankind and started to hate them for their selfishness. In a gust of fresh air I feel the weight get lighter, in the distance a figure stands, her hands held up holding the sky. Walking towards me I see her face full of joy and fulfillment. This brings joy to me as she stands beside me, suddenly figures appear all around us. east to west, north to south. few but enough people have risen to the call of the sky.
