Car Crash Blues

Car Crash Blues

A Poem by C.M.Ware
"

I got in a car wreck today..every 16 year olds dream. I decided to write a sonnet about it. If words end in -ed, then it should be pronounced like the name Ed. I don't know how to post accent marks

"
The Car Crash Blues

Crushed, Defeated, This is how i feel.
My pride smashed like the side of my car.
A scraped knee, which in time shall heal
A caged bird i have become, not very far
I can go with no vehicle to take
me away, a caged bird i become.
I just started driving for lord Christ's sake
and man, I can say that I sure feel dumb.
My freedom now taken away from me,
My pride deflated and my ego burst.
I loved that red Chrysler you see?
Now it is busted up and it is cursed.
My head hurts but at least I am alive
I will miss the ability to drive.
