Green Thumb

Green Thumb

A Poem by Chenin Marie

My seed was planted next to yours
and as we sprouted
our stems intertwined

We grew like this
naturally
But my petals began to wilt
And no matter how hard I tried to grow
towards the sun

Alone

It did not matter
because I was anchored down by roots
Stuck in soil
I thought was home
