Pieces of a Reflection

Pieces of a Reflection

A Poem by Chenin Marie

I'm sucking the air from this borrowed time.
Getting intoxicated on the juice from your vine.

 Your breath was sweet before
But now it's a stench
Because you've embodied my hate for this so called love.
I used to wear you like my favorite dress.
We were so beautiful together once.

But you've become a scar that doesn't fade.
Haunting my pale skin
Pumping through my veins.
I'm looking into this broken mirror
the one that struck me seven years.

And all I see are pieces of me.

All the glue has dried and flaked away.
There are no more pieces left
No more for you to take.

But I won't forget the beginning
When you used to get me drunk.
So I'll save those pretty stories
And take seven years bad luck.

Although this doesn't have any rhyme scheme, I actually like it and I don't really like any free verse. Well done!!! Bravo!

So you cook with it and develop new flavors. Wine is so complicated. This is so cryptic

You cook with it so burns up and gives new flavor to something worth devouring. That's what happens.. read more
