Gaia

Gaia

A Poem by Chenin Marie

Little green blades tickle my feet.

I press my cheek to the soil and whisper “I love you”.

With my palms to the ground, I feel her vibration.

I can only assume she must know its me.

I close my eyes and breathe her in.

She hugs me with sun beams that dance on my skin.

My eyelids flutter as her breeze spins by.

I open my eyes, I can feel her in the clouds.

I feel her in the air, in the sun and the fauna.

This is how I connect with my mother.

The beauty around me expresses her gratitude.

I get to my feet.

I have consumed her energy.

I feel so lucky to be hers.

I really liked this piece of work here. It kinda makes you wonder if the poet is referring to a deceased mother or Mother earth. It really blurs the line in between. I really love the language of the piece referring sooooooooo much to the earths beautiful resources. I also loved the the name by the way. Gaia. That's what really caught my attention.
Stay inspired.

Your expression is very intertwined with the aspects of nature in expressing your relationship with your mother. Is this poem personified or are you saying that mother nature is your mother?
