Revisiting Daisy

Revisiting Daisy

A Poem by C.M Grogan
"

My interpretation of the cover of The Great Gatsby.

"

She is somewhere in the sky

Her eyes a flaming yellow

Beautiful and unforgettable,

But sad and never to tell why

Once, she was thought to be obtainable

But really, she was already gone.

Having taken with her an irretrievable mystery

Look to her and the vast night,

How she blurs the city lights

With her sadness and longing

And the glistening of a single tear drop.

Author's Note

C.M Grogan
I am not very good at Poetry. In fact, I rarely write it. However, The Great Gatsby means a great deal to me and I've always felt the cover itself was extremely profound too.

Anyway, I'd very much like opinions on this.

*The icon is actually a painting I did of the cover. Obviously, it's not as good as the real cover. I figured I could use it this way.*

I completely LOVE this. It reminds me of something I would paint.

You seem to have more writing ability than you care to admit. Valentine

I appreciate that, thank you. I may have to take a crack at poetry more often.

What a blessing to be so creative. I think you've succeeded in both the painting and the poem.

Job well done man. I like it. I draw and paint too. I think that's pretty decent painting.

Considering you rarely write poetry this is great. I can wait to read more of your work. However don't stop posting stories though because I will get very sad ha-ha. All jokes aside you did a good job.
