Drunken Nights

Drunken Nights

A Poem by Wonderful Letdown
"

A woman searching for love the wrong way.

"
Tight shirts
short skirts
headin' out the door again tonight.
Lookin' for some fun
and to find some lovin'.

Tip the glass
knock it all back.
Trying to drown out
the morals sayin'
"This ain't right"

Whoooooa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Fleetin' touches,
dark eyes,
whispered promises
of things to come.

Decisions made,
"This is the one".
Hope alight,
that it ain't just a one time thing.

Whoooooaaa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Drunken fumblin',
sparks a' flyin',
Can't get there fast enough
limbs a' tanglin'.

Hazy mind,
body on fire,
freely givin' touches
filled with desire.

Whoooooaaa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Night's passion has passed,
early mornin' has come.
Fuzzy memories
stumblin' through

Hung over pills,
an awkward air.
Strewn clothes
quickly thrown back on.

Uncomfortable car ride,
back to the bar.
Drop 'er off sayin'
"It was fun, see you around"

Whoooooaaa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Left her to stare off
heart-broken because
"He wasn't the one"
Time to head on back.

No guilt she has
only disappointment
Though she knows she's wrong
She just don't care

Whoooooaaa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

While back at home
a young child is sleepin'
And a broken-hearted husband
lays a waitin' to see her

He knew what she'd been doin'
He saw the love letters
in the bottom drawer
Helpless to stop her
Scared for their daughter.

Did you find what you were lookin' for?
Was it worth 'causin' so much heart ache,
For your 15 minutes of fun?
Did ya find yer love?

Whoooooaaa girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Nooooooo girl,
you won't be able to find
what you're searchin' for.

Nooooo girl,
Flouncin' all your goods
like some two cent w***e.

Author's Note

Wonderful Letdown
I'm quite pissed off at the moment, and yes it IS about my mom and what she did. Aaand if it's bad, it's because I am no song writer. Poetry and stories are my forte....songs, not so much.

Sorry the grammar is weird, I kinda pictured it like a country/folk song with a weird ass accent.

Yo, I love writing though I suck at grammar/punctuation. It's the only way I can express myself. Don't expect weekly updates. I'm a really irregular kind of writer. Though I hope to improve (as a .. more..
