Small Town GirlA Poem by Wonderful LetdownA person reminiscing about the history they shared with another person and what it's like now.
As the seasons change
people do as well. This is a lesson I learned from you You were a great teacher. You and I were best mates "best friends forever" as we used to say Though you were always by my side Why did I always feel so empty inside? All the lies you told and betrayals that left me cold. I still stayed because I actually gave a damn. All the times I needed you but you left me hanging to face everything alone I trusted you and you left. I believed you were my friend but that was all a lie. So much pain you caused under the guise of "friend" it became such an addicting kind of sadness one that I couldn't leave behind just yet When our surroundings changed you did too. It didn't take long for us to stop talking for you to replace me. Did you really have to do all of that? To end what we had Couldn't you just tell me "It's over"? In a way, I was happy to see you go. I just want you to forget this because I've had it. I saw you pass me by today by the way side. No acknowledgements were passed we were like strangers. It reminded me how much I've changed how much WE'VE changed. I watched you walk away now you're just somebody that I used to know. © 2012 Wonderful LetdownAuthor's Note
