Trying to secure a future with a loved one, and protecting their love from being turned into hatred.

despite what you may think.

But love is a funny thing;
It can build you up
or break you down.
It can save you with a gentle hand
or destroy you with a piercing stare.

we can't keep walkin' down this path.

though you think I'm in the wrong.
I'm trying to protect this feeling
from destruction's loving embrace.

I may be young
but a few things I know;

I refuse to continue down this abusive path.

even though it took everything for me to say.

I protected our future
from being marred by my name sake*,
I stopped us from drinking that deadly elixir.

There's hope

It was quiet journey to read this. All these words. Describe some my experience what I had. I like this hope on the end. Maybe see you again. Maybe this person who you love. Can love you at same way like you do.

Thank-you, but I'm afraid that is impossible. Due to her mental illness, my mother isn't capable of it. Though I do hope one day our relationship can be mended, but it won't ever be a "normal" one.
