Vanity is Sanity

Vanity is Sanity

A Poem by Caleb Aquilino

If a person is prideful
Is it not for survival?
A person has to be true
If their life is to ensue
Should one step back
If others always lack?
We all have to delight
The fire within, ignite
Would others cause
Our own confidence to pause?
People might be despondent
Their own life redundant
Does that mean
We have to concede?
Is it wrong to know
What worth we are owed?
Being confident
Is the greatest compliment
One can give to keep sensible
It's only indispensable
To keep our sanity
With vanity

I'm just a regular guy. I like writing short letters and poems describing my emotions. I can be intense, whether it's positive or negative. I seem to suffer from insomnia alot. more..
