Better half

Better half

A Poem by Caleb Aquilino

When I look at you
Everything we've been through
What makes us come back?
Do we see what we lack?
In our self when the other isnt there
Is it too much to bear?
Is it an aversion?
Knowing that one person
Is out there still
Looking too, to fulfill
What each encountered
What both devoured
The ever distancing space
Makes us both fall from grace
Makes our souls fragment
From feeling the absence
Of your ying to my yang
What we both bring to this gang
Maybe we come to a realization
That we can't kick this fixation
Of a perfect choreograph
Our better half
