Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Caleb Aquilino

The starlight flicks
Hands of a clock tick
The maddening stillness
Brings a sense of fulfillness
That you are alone
You will always bemoan
Things you have done
Weaves you have spun
In the endless dark
You seem to always embark
On this empty unforgiving journey
Might as well play the tourney
Dreams are absent
Closed eyes aren't a facet
Every moment lingers
Every minute is a stinger
A reminder of what isn't
Hoping it doesn't stay for a long visit
The dreaded wait
Of this Insomnia state
