Brand new

Brand new

A Poem by Caleb Aquilino

When two people meet
The excitement can be tough to beat
But when it's special and unique
The tongue and cheek
Exploring one another
Can be like no other
The laughing and flirting
You can feel the asserting
Of two kindred spirits
Can give hope and the appearance
Of something more
It leaves both wanting to adore
The personality and each aspect
The originality and each facet
Hoping the freshness never wanes
That this new pairing is ordained
But each one must see
That this pristine pairing be
The one that works and desires
Lasts and transpires

There's much more than humour in this deeply philosophical piece, (at least to me!)
