Missing you

Missing you

A Poem by Caleb Aquilino

A day without talking to you seems like forever
Thinking of how to get you to speak with something clever
Missing you kills me inside
But knowing at least I tried
Does nothing to stop the ebb, the tide
Of these lingering feelings that won't die
The silence and this haze that persists
Over my thoughts and heart, what is the gist
Of your tranquil quietness, you being invisible
The longing to hear your voice is incredible
The longing to see you is inevitable
Your inaction is paralyzing
Your absence is demoralizing
This missing you is for the birds
But you could change everything with one word
Make me happy, make me blush
Make me smile, make me trust
That you still want us
And we both know
It's with a simple hello
