The Light

The Light

A Poem by CLou Narvaez
"

Did anyone care. Minute possessions Travel as one Men,women, children, We will get it done.

"
Lost in the images
Of those far and near
Men,women,children
Run away from the fear.
They all travel as one.
We will get it done.
Together,alone,
Family trees will dissolve
Without seeking a fight
No existence at all.
Marching endlessly.
Tiring.
Inch by inch,seek asylum.
Step by step towards new life.
Con Dios y las lagrimas
We will find the light.
Holding hands.
Jugs of water
A morsel or two.
Seeking safety from another.
This is what they must do.
Holding Mijo. Mijita!
One more mile or two
No more golpes, balasos.
You can just..... be you.

A sea of emotions.
Swirling within heart and soul.
Mother's tears are so grateful
Father's futures
BEHOLD!
WE ARE HERE NO MORE VIOLENCE
AMERICA'S GREAT.
I've been told.
Boys with no families
Want to belong.
So they've arrived to be counted.
Oh " Gracias a Dios".
Yelled in song.

Mi gente kept dying.
It was time for new homes.
Walking up to the freedom
As the green armies approach.
At least they are friendly
Everyone seems to boast.

Get on your knees.
Commands ringing aloud.
You don't belong here .
We don't want you terrorist
Murders or anyone queer.
We'll tear gas your babies and
Kill them you hear
So a Father is grieving.
7 years way to long.
His struggle to save her
Ended.
Now she is gone.

"It's their fault."
Tweets continue.
The door stood solid.
Except for that night.
Her little spirit found freedom...
She went to the light.

' Get on your knees. - Commands ringing aloud.- You don't belong here . - We don't want you terrorist - Murders or anyone queer. - We'll tear gas your babies and - Kill them you hear - So a Father is grieving. - 7 years way to long. - His struggle to save her - Ended. - Now she is gone. ''

What I could add to those horrors is unprintable.

Sped down the page, rushing to read your words... a tragedy of truth. Such a powerful write, informative, from the heart, detailed, hopeless yet yearning to be heard, terror and tenderness. Such incredible writing.. will come back later and read more slowly.

I sincerely I hope you're made welcome in the cafe by many of its empathic folk.
