Angeline Learns a Lesson From GaiaA Story by Celeste Lucy ZaveriAngeline goes astral-traveling and learns a lesson from the goddess Gaia about respecting the earth and being kind to the environment. This won 1st Place in the "Members" Contest.Angeline Q. Zaveri was astral-traveling one again, where she left her body and became a spirit. Today she was going to see Gaia and learn an important lesson. She saw Gaia crying and said: “What’s is wrong? I don’t get it! In this wonderful, good-hearted Spirit World, only happiness goes along!” Gaia looked over. “Angeline, it is you. You are my new student. Can that be true? Are you the Angeline, the best Angeline Q. Zaveri you can possibly be?” Angeline nodded. “Please tell me a lesson. It’ll explain why you’re crying, or at least that’s what I’m guessing.” “Let’s go on a field trip where you shall learn more. You shall learn this lesson, and shall get to explore.” Gaia led Angeline to a place of beauty and more beauty, an excellent space. “Gaia,” said Angeline, “so why are you crying? Should I be also? Tell me the truth, I know you would never be lying.” “Because there is litter, rudeness and more. How can a kind, loving earth feel glory like she did once before?” Gaia led Angeline to a place even more beautiful than it at first seemed. It was lady in a ship’s form. Maybe she’d learn something important, or more. “Where are we sailing?” asked Angeline. “And why?” “Because you’ll enjoy the scenery,” replied Gaia. “Here is what happened: “The humans have littered, polluted, and even worse! They’ve hunted done my poor Children Animals and are sometimes mean to one another. They cannot be fair to Gaia, their Great Mother. It is not nice, nor is it wise. This is why many times I cry. “They have not apologized, even though many try to right the past wrongs. But that is not enough. We need goodness from them all. “Many of your kind mistreat me, yet I forgive you. You’re innocent"I know it to be true. In fact, many are good, caring, and kind. Many are loving, with hearts and souls that glow and shine. They are good, but alas, many are not. This is why I cry. Because I’m not completely treated right. “This is the story of why I always cry, and although I don’t feel perfect, however I try.” “Oh, Gaia, that’s horrible! It isn’t fair! I want to stomp…how evil, humans don’t care!” Angeline was mad at the treatment of the earth. With reason, with reason, with reason of course. Gaia finally said, “But I’ll be alright. If you can convince the goodness to be brought into all kind. Rainbows, many rainbows could every day form, if humans were good, of course.” “Gaia, why stand there when so much bad is done?” asked Angeline. “Surely, oh, surely, that can’t be fun!” “It isn’t enjoyable, that I can see,” said Gaia unhappily. “But I can’t harm them"they’re my children… “Won’t you help make a stand? Stop the bad and do something grand?” “Yes,” promised Angeline. “But let’s see what the Zodiacs say of this"do they agree?” “Anything spiritual surely would,” said Gaia as gently as she could. “Sorry to be rude,” said Angeline, “but I’m going unicorn racing!” “No, Angeline,” said Gaia gently. “Your parents are wanting you awake. Return to your human body and end the astral-traveling. You have duties back with my Human Children.” Angeline didn’t want to return. She didn’t want to leave the Spiritual Life of which she’d learned. “Must I go? Already? No, no! I want to play with the unicorns!” “Sorry,” said Gaia. “Yet you must. Go. Go. Sorry, yet it is a rush. Return and help Mother Gaia"do something to bring pride to the earth back with the humans. Goodbye.” And off Angeline went to live a human life…and share the journey she’d had. © 2016 Celeste Lucy ZaveriAuthor's Note
