War

War

A Poem by Charlee Richards
"

Internal dialogue

"
I don't want to.
No, but I need to.
This isn't what I want.
"But it's what you need.
Don't fight it,
That'll only make it worse."

No I don't need this;
I can do this on my own!

A collapsed soul;
Maybe they were right -

No!
You have to believe that they are wrong!

- They have to be wrong.

F**k my head hurts.

I really enjoyed this poem. The ending in the smaller font really made it all worth while for me, along with the quotes throughout. It felt more personable this way; almost interactive. Nice job.

You're welcome! I look forward to reading more from you.
I'm not sure. It might be my Nirvana-fandom showing, but I really enjoy it when poems/lyrics contradict themselves, as is done magnificently here. The last line is a cute touch, almost missed it.
