Master, Bait Me

Master, Bait Me

A Poem by CLR9
"

This is a pome about fishing (the sport).

"
Say I'm a five
Say I'm a fifty
Master baits me
By calling me spiffy
Lay down ten
Lay down twenty
Write down thoughts
That make you giddy
By your genius
Buy your beer
Make sure everyone
In the room can hear
How clever the master
Baits the hook
He baits it like how
A true master baits
Himself
So call me eloquent
And call me a saint
And the master baits me
With a bucket of paint
That I use
To cover myself
Like a house
But I'm a man
Do you understand how deep I am?
More than grains of sand

There is a uniqueness to your writing CLR9, but then you know that I think. Whether these are dashed off in a hurry without giving thought to how they read could very well be...but I believe there is more than that involved.

Your writings are beginning to grow on me.

You "play" well ...but can you dance?

Clever is actually an insult ...describing one who takes "shortcuts" usually inappropriately or at the cost of others. You have a skill and rare understanding of how words can play.
