Empty Shadows #37

Empty Shadows #37

A Poem by CLCurrie
"

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining...

"

Empty Shadow Thirty-Seven

Draft 1

By: Chase L. Currie

A step taken

What choice is there?

A step forward

Never backward, fate decreed it so

In the long valley

Where some bend

Taken could -

            Should

Reveal a new landscape

Of Milk and Honey?

            Or

A mouldering graveyard?

Where a Crow sits on

A pallid of Pallas

Pecking the glass

Of all that was my heart

Bathe in a moon glow

The valley was once told

Is long - ever winding

A step taken

            Another follows.

Interesting poem..but mainly I am drawn to what you wrote about your life..
I sat with a lovely cup of cappuccino, here in beautiful Spain, and read every word..
Thinking back to my youth I too come from a wonderful story telling background..
My father was amazing when it came to made-up story telling.. Although, now over 60 years ago I can still recall one story in particular..So, with that came my love of story telling...
My poems end up being a story within themselves. I kept all my stories, poems, etc. to myself until recently when I found Writers Cafe and began submitting my poems..for the first time anywhere!!
I came across your poems by chance and i am so glad I did.
Love the read with all its metaphors.. I will be reading more..
