Empty Shadows # 0A Poem by CLCurrieLove is so short, forgetting so long -Pablo NerudaZero Draft_1 There’s a letter on my
desk Unsent to her Love was not enough A black cat yawns in my bed A wolf huffs in sorrow at
the door His pale blue gaze Weeps over the endless
ink of my wasted words The letter stares back at me My pen resting next to it
Words never spoken Hurts never uttered The letter of broken chains And maybe, shattered
hearts She no longer needs me Loves me but I loved her It was not enough There’s a letter on my
desk Never sent to her But the flames might get it. © 2021 CLCurrie
