Note Thirty-Three

Note Thirty-Three

A Poem by CLCurrie

I wanted to go

Somewhere nice

                                For a bit in

                                Dancing light

But I found an abandoned

Park bench

Behind the weeping trees

With their snow like flowers

The sun smiled between all

But the heat never touched

My cheeks

The chill winds

Of a sore winter

Begging for April’s snows

Took my hand

Even the numbing cold

Felt misplace

In the emptiness of my

Chest

I wished to love

The wind

The light playing games with

The fairies as the Nisse

                                Grumbles with a black cat

                                Named Persephone

Strolled on by in a quest

I wish to love -

Take her hand

Feel a warmth to my bones

But there lies a hole

In this Heart of Glass

I fear

I left to many shards along the way

To you

I’ve broken once too many times

To love your calming eyes

I feed the Raven at

My feet

As you sigh and walk away

Another lost moment in

This game

For this pen

                                And all I can do

                                Is pick up

A book of gothic thrills

To find sorrows of the undead

                                Forgetting the hole

                                In me -

I wanted to go

Somewhere nice
