Note Thirty-One

Note Thirty-One

A Poem by CLCurrie

Note Thirty-One

Draft 2

By: Chase L. Currie

I want …

I want to

Lay in the

Dark with

You counting

The bats of

Yesterday

There I’ll

Whisper

Tell me a

Memory which

Will brighten

The night

Let me hear

That little

Blissful flame

That you keep

Caged like the

Robin Redbreast

So, we can free

Heaven of it’s

Rage

I’m not ready to

See you cry

On this night

For the cyclone

Of yesteryear

Will come walking

Soon enough

Tell me of

Childhood joys

As we lay

Here tonight

All I want,

All I want …

Is your smile.

wow, this is good.
Nostalgia can work both ways...memories we want to relive, wish we could go back.
And the memories we can't get far away from...and when there is so much baggage, a smile might be hard to catch a ride with when the moon rises.
