Chapter 8: KaiA Chapter by CJP.LangenElder Forn entered. “How’s Denise and the girl?” My mother asked the Elder. “Denise and Luna are fine,” he said as he looked at me.
Kai did you hear?! Her name is Luna, not only she is our Luna, but the world’s too! My wolf was excited. Ssst! Quiet!
“Glad to hear that. Why are you here, Elder Forn?” my mom asked settling in her Alpha mode. “I came to ask for a light sentence. The girl, although not grave, has injuries in which she needs time to heal. She’s fully human so all wounds need to heal naturally.” “We already discussed the matter. We agreed no heavy penalty will be given, but a penalty is in order. What do you suggested?” My mom asked Elder Forn. “My diner is up for renovation. I could use some young hands.” He looked at me. “That’s a good idea.” “No! It isn’t! That girl will not be bothered in Pack matters. Elder Forn’s diner is Pack property, she’s human, so not suitable for the work. “Then you suggest to give no penalty. We can only give a sentence when Pack matters are involved.” Elder Forn evaded my father’s reasoning. “She should be punished!” My father calmed down as my mother stroked his hair. “I think a penalty is still in order. Even though she isn’t pack, it happened on Pack ground at a Pack member’s porch.” My mother remarked. “Yes, yes. She should be punished. Fine! She shall help with the renovation. Kai, I need you to oversee her! I want her supervised at all times. I don’t trust her. At the first action she shows any challenge to me or to you, you drag her to the cells!” my father almost roared, but settled with speaking each words with disgust. “That is a good idea, Alpha.” Said Elder Forn. He looked at me again. Do you hear Kai, we’re going to see her soon. And not only at College, but also outside of College. The Moon is blessing us. I ignored my wolf for this time. “Yes father, I will supervise her at all times.” “Good, that makes two young pair of hands.” Elder Forn said happy. “Well, if you excuse me, I have other things to take care of. I see you Sunday, my Alphas.” He didn’t wait for acknowledgement, turned around and walked away, closing the door behind him. ‘’Well, now that’s settled. Kai, I need your help with something. Come help me with that. Dear, I am right next door. Call if you need me.” My mother kissed my father on each cheek, walked passed me, motioning me to follow her. I did. ***
“Okay tell me,” my mom said as I just settled in a chair at her own chamber. This chamber was used when she wanted time to destress or at times she needed to be alone. I couldn’t imagine how it was to be with my father. My father was strong, but mentally he wasn’t. He was scared that someone would challenge him and he would lose the tittle. “Tell what?” I tried. “Kai, no games. You held something from me when you explained the…” she looked for a word but settled with “situation.” She looked at me, daring me not to do. Kai, now's the time! What if she doesn’t accept it? What if? If what? She will be happy! She could support us and warm up the idea to your father. Okay, fine. Here goes all. “Mom, I found my Chosen.” I hastily said. “But Baby that’s wonderful. You’re only 20 and already found your Mate! It took me fifty years to find your dad. I am so happy. You have to introduce her to me. Which pack is she from? Is she ours? I don’t think there was one. There aren’t many girls, and I never saw any indications that there was a Mate between them.” She paced back and forth the room. I took a breather and told the news, “Well, mom. She isn’t from a Pack. The girl is Luna, Denise’s niece,” I said as I braced myself for the worst. “You got to be kidding me. She’s human! Not even an Impure, but human! The Moon must be joking with us. This isn’t possible. My only son will be mated to a human? I can’t believe it.” she stopped pacing, walked to my front, bend down, took my face in her hand and looked me in the eyes. “Are you sure?” “As sure as I am Pack.” I said. My wolf accounted my words by letting himself come to the forefront. My eyes turned ice blue. My mom held the gaze for a few moments, nodded and sat down in her chair. She sighed. “Okay then, we have some planning to do. If Luna is your Chosen one, than we have to convince your dad also. But it isn’t going to be easy. Your Dad despises her.” “I know. I am afraid, mom. I never knew a human that could mate to shifters. What if she doesn’t like me, what if she rejects me?” I began to form tears in the corners of my eyes. “Now now, it’s going to be okay. The Moon chose her for a reason. Her mother is an Impure, so she has werewolf blood inside her, maybe that’s the reason why she can be chosen. I will talk to Forn about it. No worries, he’ll know what to do.” “No, the more people know, the more dangerous it becomes for me or Luna.” “Honey, but I don’t know of the history of our Pack, Forn is a historian and an Elder. He needs to know about this. And I think he already knows.” My wolf was instantly alert. Trouble? My mother smiled. “There’s no trouble, little one. Settle down.” “Sorry, we’re a bit edgy today,” I apologized. “It’s normal. That’s means it’s serious. Now leave. I’ll inform Forn, he’ll contact you. At least you’ll see Luna in two days at the Sunday meeting. But not sooner,” my mother said. She looked, held my gaze. I dropped my eyes. “Yes, I’ll see her Sunday, not earlier. But I’m not held responsible when I break something. He is already stirring impatiently.” “I can’t imagine.” My mom said as she smiled encouraging. Just two more days till I’ll see her. I wished I could see her from a far. “Oh, no peeking at the Pack camera’s.” My mom caught my thoughts. “Mom! No peeking inside my head.” “Didn’t need to. I was young too, you know. Good night honey.” She kissed my forehead and said goodbye. I did the same. I wanted to sleep, see her in my dreams.© 2015 CJP.Langen |
