Chapter 6: Luna

Chapter 6: Luna

A Chapter by CJP.Langen

The man roared silence at everybody. Many lowered their gaze onto the ground, not wanting to meet his anger. My aunt, on the other hand, begged for my sake. What did I do wrong? I wasn’t the one invading someone’s house, I wasn’t the one grabbing people and almost choking them. The Big Angry Man roared again against my aunt, lifting her up as she weighed nothing. My aunt had fear in her eyes. Why was that? When I saw her tremble I couldn’t hold it.

I kicked him in the shin, hard. He let my aunt go and spun to my direction. I jumped back, raising my hands to a fighting position. I knew I stood no chance, but at least I could buy some time for my aunt to escape.

“You dare to kick me?!” Big Angry Man yelled. Ouch, my ears didn’t like that.

“Of course I do! You hurt my aunt! What else could I do, if I could I would’ve kicked your balls.”

“You insolent brat. I would’ve let your aunt go, but this is a challenge. I accept.”

      Challenge? For what?

“Challenge? What the hell are you talking about?”

“Alpha please, she knows nothing. Please ignore her.” My aunt begged again as she crept in front of me. She shielded me for the Big Angry man, whose name apparently was Alpha.

“Aunt Denise, go away. I can handle this.”

“No, you stay put! I know you think you can handle this but you don’t. You have no idea who this is and what he’s capable off.” My aunt scolded me.

“He hurt you.” I said in my defense.

“And you hurt him back, it’s done.” She held the finger to me.

“No, it’s not.” Alpha said. “She challenged me, even if she knows nothing a challenge is a challenge. I can’t back down.”

“Fighting a little girl isn’t memorable. It’s pathetic.” My aunt said.

“A little girl who can kick pretty well and knows how to challenge, is in our community fight worthy.” Alpha spat.

“I can vouch for that” The man who invaded Aunt Denise’s house said.

      “You shut up” I said.

He didn’t like that and fought against the man who held him. The man holding the invader had raven black hair which fell over his ears. Here and there were some spikes making his hair do playful. But when he looked at me, his pale blue eyes, pierced through me. His muscles were flexing as he used all of his strength in containing the man.

I was slammed to the ground, as I didn’t play any attention to Alpha and my aunt.

I shrieked in surprise and tried not to scream.

Alpha held pinned down to the ground, I couldn’t move. He was heavy, too heavy. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move, I was trapped.

      “Yield!’ He said.

“Only if you say that you won’t hurt Aunt Denise!” I stammered

“You are in no position to demand anything.”

“Then no, I won’t yield.” I looked in him the eyes. He had the same eyes as the man holding the invader. But Alpha’s eyes were cold, so cold I was stunned for a few seconds. A shiver went up my spine. In reflect I kicked again, this time at the right place.

“Hmph!” as Alpha let me go. I wiggled away from him as I stood again. My aunt was lying on the ground, not moving.

“Auntie? Aunt Denise!” I yelled, I shook her in the hope she responded. She didn’t. I panicked. I stood up, looked around me, dazed as I didn’t knew what to do.

      “You Biatch!” Alpha said.

I jumped away, evading his attack.

“Enough, Lucard. You scared the girl, don’t you see. She already doesn’t know what’s going on. Just leave it be.” An old man said. He stepped in front of me, kneeling down to my aunt and looked at me. “Your aunt is fine, she just needs rest. You, on the other hand, need a doctor.’’ He said.

“Elder Forn, this girl showed no respect to me, her Aunt even disobeyed. Her father called me unrightfully and you expect me to just let go?!” Alpha said angrily

“I said to drop it now. Which punishment you give is not of my concern, but an Alpha who makes a ruckus in front of his Pack can be seen unworthy, I suppose.” The old man said.

He turned his back to Alpha and looked me in the eyes. “Child, do you know this man?” he said as he pointed to the invader.

      “No”

“Then why does he claim that he is your father?”

      “I never knew my father”

“Then he could be your father?”

      “I suppose” I said.

“What do you know of your father?”

      “Nothing”

      “Your mother?”

“My moth…” I snapped out a trance I was in. “Is of no concern to you!”

The old man seemed taken back. “Well I’ll be damned”

      “What?” I shrieked.

He shook his head as to say no more. “Nothing”

He turned again to Alpha, “This girls need medical attention. Call doctor Lemmens to come. It’s over people, go to your jobs!” he yelled. People seemed disappointed because there was no fight. Alpha on the other hand was red. His head looked like it would explode.

“Kai, bring Allen to the holding cells.

“Yes sir” the man called Kai. Kai, nice name I thought.

“Girl, this is not over. We’ll settle this at the Sunday Meeting.” Alpha said as he walked away.

“Come, let’s get your aunt inside. The doctor will be here soon.

I looked at the men driving away. I saw Kai looking back, we locked eyes as he looked away. Just one second and I saw his soul. A mix of beautiful lights. Mixed with a glow of golden rays. I felt myself turn red. I looked away to my aunt, who was now in the arms of the old man.

“Let’s go.” He said as he turned and walked away, I followed.
