Chapter 5: Denise

Chapter 5: Denise

A Chapter by CJP.Langen

I was wondering who would ring the bell at six in the afternoon. Normally pack members always announce themselves and there was no human in the neighborhood. When I walked to the door a strange smell crept into my nose. Iew, what was this? The smell was like decay mixed with metal and silver. Was it a hunter?

I arrived at the door and opened it. I was stunned. This man before me, was Allen Roosveld. Luna’s father and hell he didn’t aged a day. Just like Luna he had brown hair, but short. Luna’s brown eyes, only Allen was bigger than her.

“What are you doing here?!” I shouted, already mentally slapping myself for the tone.

Behind I heard the chair falling to the ground as I presumed Luna heard me shouting. And sure, there she was.

“What’s wrong, Aunt Denise?” she asked eyeing the man in the doorstep. She widened her stance as she was ready to defend me, if needed. Little did she know I wouldn’t need her protection and that she was no match to Allen Roosveld. Alpha material but chose not to be.

“I think that is Luna, am I right?” Allen said as he was amused by my niece. I took a step to place myself in front of her.

      “Why are you here, Allen?”

“To see my daughter of course.” He said with a shrug.

“Your daughter isn’t here.” I said with a challenging tone. I couldn’t beat him with my strength, but I wouldn’t let him harm Luna.

“Of course she is. You only have one sister, and she had a child. That child is now standing behind you.” He walked into my house. Shoved me away even though I used all my strength for not budging.

“Hmph!” I heard as I hit the wall.

“Aunt Denise!” Luna had kicked Allen against his shin. Passed him and tried to help me back up. Before she could held out her hand she was pushed away by Allen.

“You dirty little biatch. How dare you kick your father!” he shouted.

“You’re no father to me! Hell, I don’t even know you!” Luna screamed back at him.

Allen had her by her throat and I saw she had difficulties in breathing. I stood up and launced myself at Allen. “Allen let her go, she isn’t your daughter!”

“Woman, stay out of this!” he shouted as he once again pushed me away, this time harder.

I knew I couldn’t win this so I had to do what wish I didn’t need to. Call the Alpha.

“Alpha, Allen Roosveld is in my house, I need help, now!” I said with all the strength I could manage.

“Denise, hang on. James is underway and so am I” My Alpha responded. I felt strength leaking trough the bond. I felt stronger, faster than before. I once again launched myself at Allen as James also arrived at the doorstep.

He jumped before my eyes, hindering me in attacking Allen. He jerked Luna out of Allen’s grip. She fell on the ground, I immediately helped her up and out of harm’s way.

“Luna, are you okay? Look at me, sweetie.” I said as I lifted her head.

Around her neck, I could already see the bruising, her eyes were filled with tears and I knew she still had lots to come.

“What is going on here?!” A male voice echoed in the hall. The voice was filled with authority and dared anyone in going against it.

I immediately fell to the ground, as my wolf saw her Alpha.

“My Alpha, Allen stormed into my house for no reason.” I responded as I stood up and bared my neck.

      “Allen, speak” My Alpha commanded.

“I have no obligation in telling my business to an Alpha with no birthright.” Allen dared to say.

I saw a movement in the eye corner of my Alpha, which indicated his patience was at its limit.

“Allen, my patience is thin these days. You know what crime you commit in disobeying your Alpha.”

“I never swore allegiance to you, so you’re not my Alpha.” Allen simply said.

That was the end, my Alpha grabbed him by his throat and swung him outside. A large bam sounded as he fell hard on the ground.

“Kai, grab his arms so he can’t move. James take care of the girls.” My alpha said. He walked outside and James walked towards us.

“Are you girls okay?” he said he looked at my injuries. I had a bump on my head which should be healed in a couple of hours, Luna on the other hand was worse off.

Her bruising was bigger than I thought.

“I’m fine” she tried to say.

I embraced her. “See, a fun day!” I tried to lighten up the mood.

“Yeah, next time please say something beforehand. I’ll remember to put on some protection. Man, that man was strong!” she said as she wiggled out of my embrace.

“Where is he?” she asked James.

      “He’s being punished, outside.”

Luna, stood up and walked outside. “Wait!” she yelled.

“Luna, come back!” I chased her.

I ran outside, seeing people making a circle in front of my house. I saw people looking back at Luna as she yelled to wait. She made her way through the people.

“Luna, stop! This is none of your business.” I shouted. I followed her, pushing people away to breach trough them.

When I cleared a way through the people I felt a power washing over me. I immediately fell to the ground.

“Alpha, please excuse this girl for her insolence. She isn’t from here. She knows nothing of this community,” I began to say.

      “Silence!” He roared.

      “Alpha, please.” I begged.

“I said silence! Denise!” I saw boots before my eyes as I was raised to meet my Alpha’s eyes. “Denise, I said no more pranks didn’t I?” he asked.

I felt my wolf shrink under his gaze. “Yes, Alpha.” I responded weakly.

I fell to the ground, hard. As I heard my Alpha roar in anger.
