Badlands

Badlands

A Poem by Corina Jean

The Badland is full of smog and smoke
See how the air blinds your eyes and fills your lungs to the brim
Making you choke
See how the plants all die and the sun is covered in gray
And yet, we all watch as the Badland continues to take over

It wakes you in the morning from the stench
Puts you to bed when it feels, and it's too dark to see
Covers this once happy place with the remains of our existence
The food is all perished, however, we must eat it to survive
And yet, we all watch as the Badland continues to take over

See the demolished heart of that city
See how the brick is eaten away, the doodad's , doohickey's, gadgets, and cloth all gone
Withered away, along with the past
The once beautiful place municipal now covered in black moss, or mold, there is no telling
And yet, we all watch as the Badland continues to take over

Don't talk to anyone. Don't trust them.
They may have been driven crazy
They never learned to speak to people, and the gadgets are gone
Connection to the rest of man kind is more none than slim. So we sit is this waste. Dying
And yet, we watch as the Badland continues to take over

We all watch and do nothing as we are destroying our planet? Or as time destroys everything? I found this a little ambiguous, but that's what I read into it. I like it!
