Fitting inA Poem by Corina JeanThe world is so materialistic. It unfortunately does this to many people. It's not fair. Yet, it happens.
Falling, Falling
Deep into a pit A pit of sorrow and grief That we won't admit We stray from the light To hide in the dark Away from the pain That resides in our hearts We follow the cool kids And leave ourselves behind To fit in "the crowd" Just so we don't have to dry our eyes We throw our smiles, and laughs, style, and morals down the drain Just to fit in Just to feel normal Just to get a small taste of happiness Regardless if it is fake All the while we hurt the ones who truly love us For us Not for our fake clothes Covered faces That hide our true beauty But, for our weird laughs and crooked smiles, and true talents that are actually worth the while Yet we can't see that from behind the tears that we cry So we fall... Farther Farther Farther, into the pit of "fitting in"
