Best Unfriends For Never

Tried to keep in touch with a friend who convinced me to move where she lived because it was a bigger place for pretty much the same money and she moved away and then dropped me like a bad habit.

When you were here
Days were fun
Working together
in the hot summer sun.
You convinced me!
Told me it was great!
Talked about the benefits
Of living in a house that has a gate.
So days go by
And we talk it over.
And move right in
To live a little closer.
But alas,
It wasn’t meant to be
You had to pack up
And move far away from me.
I try to stay in touch
Events unfold that leave me broken.
I try to reach out to you
But my messages remain un-open.
Holidays and birthdays,
Anniversaries and such,
I text and hope
But you don’t stay in touch.
Am I forgotten?
Do you not care?
If this is a game,
You’re playing unfair.
You called me your bestie,
Said I was your friend.
Now I’m left questioning,
Is this the end?
Is the relationship over?
Now that I’m stuck,
In a house that has a gate
and a ton of bad luck.
Living here has been hell!
Without you, it’s been worse.
When I truly think about it,
Maybe it’s me that is the curse.

Wow, I like the rhyming and fast pace of the poem. Yes, some friendships were not meant to last unfortunately,. They may last a good while and out of nowhere... bam! They just leave you and drop out of their lives. It's a sad reality, and I'm sure you must have been hurt so much, she didn't even tell you formally that it was the end of the friendship. Although it is hard, we have to be strong and move on. Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed reading.
