Smile

Smile

A Poem by Cherry
"

"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living." F. Scott Fitzgerald -The Beautiful and the Damned-

"
Bright on her face, lain so ideal
Like rain on tin roof nights
One glimpse enough to heart congeal
Those ivory pearly whites
A day so damned, tis quite a curse
Filled with hate and shame
You ask yourself, "Could it get worse?"
Not with fiery flame.
Two rows twinkle, dimpled cheek
Lines form by her eyes
Tiny nose wrinkle, perfect technique
Bringing the worst down to size
Perched on her face, right under nose,
A beautiful flower grows.

I like the hopeful message at the end; that there is something beautiful waiting for us right around the corner and if we keep searching for it we will find out it was right under our nose the whole time. Very lovely poem you have written here :) be proud
