Alex walked alongside Veronica hand in hand for a few blocks before arriving at the doorway to the club that she agreed they should be meeting at.  In any case it seemed that Alex was still uncomfortable with her deep questions and concerns.  The deepest concern being the lack of information having been provided thus far regarding the location of Maliketh.  They had arrived in a more risky part of the town to a less private club.  Ironically the club was Gilded Treasures and was owned by another vampire clan.  They went to the door and Veronica walked into the club.  The bouncer at the door immediately ushered her into the room without checking any of his weapons.  Alex felt more concerned about this place than the previous.  In many outer world settings it was customary to sacrifice your weapons when entering any domains.  It was a secret law that provided a gesture of peace, but here there seemed to be no such standard.  Veronica smiled at the bouncer and made a peace symbol.  “Thanks mate” She said.  “Veronica, why did you go here?  We are after a vampire clan not looking to sneak around with one” Alex pointed out.  “Don’t worry, the vampires here are friends of mine and they won’t hurt us” She said.  “I used to come here from time to time with your fiancé.  She loved coming here to enjoy the hot stubs and the cheap liquor” She said.  Alex’s jaw practically dropped to the floor.  Alex was still standing motionless.  “Sit down already before you embarrass me” Veronica said as she grabbed him by the shirt and sat him down.  “She’s right you know” Frank chimed.  “Shut up Frank.  Nobody asked you” Alex said.  Alex could hear frank laughing from within the jacket.  “I’ll sucker punch you in the face mother f****r” Frank said.  Alex just sat there are one of the tables and a hot sexy waiter came up to greet them.  The vampire smiled at the both, bearing some fang in a way that seemed almost irresistible.  “Hello Veronica.  How are you doing girl?” He said.  Veronica bubbled up and smiled at the waiter.  “I’m just hanging out with a friend of mine who wants to get some action” She said.  Alex turned red.  “Get some dick Alex” Frank said.  Alex opened up his jacket just long enough to punch Frank in the face.  Alex didn’t say a word.  “I’ll get you a red light special for later Alex.  You can have any man in the house my friend” The waiter said.  Veronica was already face down on the table laughing.  “You seriously need to chill out Alex.  Don’t you ever have any fun?” She asked.  “No, not really.  Not much to do when your one and only dies a bitter death” Alex said.  Veronica’s face tightened.  She called over to the waiter.  “Jeffrey, get us two beers please” She said.  Jeffrey nodded.  Jeffrey came back with two beers shortly.  Jeffrey handed Alex his beer and winked at him, shaking his a*s as he walked back to talk with the bartender.  “Veronica you have royally embarrassed me tonight” Alex said.  Veronica nodded.  “I had to make you pay for getting my girlfriend killed and now you are completely inconspicuous” She said.  “I think it’s time that we get down to some real business.  What would you like to know?” Veronica asked.  Veronica was now very stern and composed.  Cait Sith were ingenious at manipulation and stealth.  They could walk into any building and make everyone believe that they belonged.  Hundreds of years ago they were known as one of the best tricksters along with Kitsune.  Cait Sith were almost impossible to rat out when they wanted to be hidden and they had the tenacity to tangle with the best in combat as well.  “Do we know where Maliketh is hiding?” Alex asked.  Veronica shrugged.  “Nobody really knows where he is hiding right now, but I do know that he is building a very large army.  Other than that it’s hard to tell” She said.  “What does this vampire clan have to do with Maliketh?  What do we know about them?” He asked.  “They have been very inhospitable to the other Vampire clans and currently are not in good favor.  This current Vampire clan is looking to wipe them out, and waiting for the right moment.  Altairs clan has been running down prey in this part of town, and this house that we are currently in has a bad beef with them” Veronica said.  Veronica gestured over to Jeffrey to come closer.  “Jeffrey can I ask you a question?” She said.  Jeffrey nodded.  “Sure, anything for you milady” He said.  “Jeffrey, how do you feel about Altairs clan?” She asked.  A sudden fire sparked in Jeffrey’s eyes as he dropped his face down to the table within whispering distance.  “I would uh…Kill em” Jeffrey said before laughing out loud.  Alex couldn’t help but notice Jeffrey ebony skin and perky n*****s.  Something about it sent him on fire, but he couldn’t quite put a finger on it.  The tensions in the air were running high this night, and it seemed almost prevalent that something was waiting to happen.  “Anything else milady” Jeffrey asked.  “Thank you Jeffrey” Veronica said.  Alex threw his hands into the air.  “I guess it’s settled.  You’re a minx dropping me into the middle of a vampire civil war…I think I like you” Alex said.  “She is f*****g sexy isn’t she?” Frank said.  Alex smirked.  Veronica flittered her eyebrows at Alex.  “So when do we get f*****g Alex?” She asked.  Alex nodded.  “That’s going to have to wait till later.  We have visitors” Alex said.  “How combat ready did you come tonight?” Alex asked.  Veronica moved her arm so that it would show the inside of her leather jacket.  Inside were two silver pistols within engrave runes on the side of them.  “It seems I’m in good company tonight” Alex said.  “I won’t be missed sweetheart.  I’ll take that dick later.  Of course, that’s if Jeffrey doesn’t pounce you first” Veronica said.  She looked over towards Jeffrey who was looking at Alex twiddling his fingers.  Alex placed his palms in hands laughing off the energy.  “Last question Veronica.  What happens when we dispatch this clan walking in?” Alex said.  Veronica shrugged.  “We are going to kill them all, and take Altair prisoner.  The Vampires here have assured me that you are safe in their midst.  After all, vampires and reavers aren’t too different.  You drink souls, and they drink blood” Veronica said.

The energy in the room was almost becoming too much to withstand.  There were six vampires from the Altair clan that had walked into the room.  They were fighting with the bouncer who refused to let them go any further.  In a few moments, something happened a large explosion of energy burst through the building.  The vampires had a sorcerer with them who entered with much gusto by blowing the s**t out of the front door.  Immediately the vampires that were already in started attacking with guns and swords.  Some of them even utilized thick claws and fangs to rip out the jugulars of locals who came to the club to watch the men dance.  Alex didn’t hesitate a single moment and neither did Veronica.  They had both been in many battles and judging by Veronica’s demeanor she was at least a century old at this point in her life.  “Alex, now may be a good time to kick some vampire a*s b***h” Frank shouted.  Alex got up and ran straight for the sorcerer who cast a freezing spell at Alex.  Alex used a shadow power teleport through the ice spell.  Alex’s body transformed into a thick black dust that went straight through the following attack as well.  Instantaneously he appeared behind the sorcerer who was already prepared for any attack.  Alex realized his failure when he noticed a rune directly below his feet.  In an instant flames started pouring out of the ground beneath him melting the asphalt.  “Alex, this wizard is very powerful and not a pushover.  Maybe you should pull out your grimoire at this point” Frank said.  Alex jumped into the air, yelling as a scythe materialized from thin air in the form of the same shadow magic he had used to teleport.  The scythe was elongated reverberated massive power.  “Alex, I didn’t know you could do this.  You don’t fight using Reaper powers” Frank shouted.  Alex wasn’t listening to Frank at this point in the battle.  Alex flew down through the air at the magic hurling the scythe directly at the sorcerer.  The sorcerer used a levitation spell and easily deflected the scythe.  “He should have been able to do that!” Alex said astounded.  The magic of the scythes were from another world and could penetrate any defense.  “Alex, you’re not a Reaper or a god.  You’re not qualified to use that weapon” Frank said.  Alex still wasn’t listening.  Veronica was doing fine by herself in battle.  As the battle drew on more vampires started showing up.  Veronica handled each one as they came in with swiftness and sheer force of will.  A vampire ran up to her about to slash her in the face but as the attack connected she used a mirror image to throw off the attack.  He turned around to see a barrel on his forehead.  She pulled the trigger ejecting his brains the opposite end of his skull.  Veronica laughed.  Alex lost focus while watching Veronica as the Sorcerer used a gravitational attack to pin Alex to the ground.  Veronica looked over to see Alex writhing in pain as gravity wore down on his body.  “Alex!” She screamed.  “Alex, listen to Frank.  I know what you did to yourself and you need to stop it immediately” Veronica said before using a burst of fire to set one of the vampires on fire.  He flailed his arms as he ran out of the building screaming.  “Alex!” She shouted again.  Alex heard it this time and responded in short with a guttural scream.  “Alex, use your inherent gifts you f*****g dipshit” Franks said.  At this point Alex was being crushed from the inside out as his organs shifted and blood poured out of his nose.  The sorcerer was laughing.  “C’mon boys get some crushed reaver warm and bloodied for you” The sorcerer said.  Alex could hear them laughing and could see shadows approaching him.  Alex managed to get his hand into his jacket.  Fingering second by second he managed to grab his grimoire.  In a flash of green energy a barrier was erected around him.  Frank floated upward out of the jacket and placed himself next to Alex’s face.  “Thank you Frank” Alex said.  Alex’s wounds began to suddenly heal from the gravitational force.  From across the field you could hear his ribs falling back into place.  “Forgive me for being a moron Frank” Alex said.  Frank had a stern look on his face.  “I’ll forgive you later when you stop sewing my mouth shut.  But for now let’s show this sorcerer why he should be very afraid of a summoner with the tenacity of a reaver” Frank said.  Alex smirked at the thought.  Alex opened the book and the pages seemed to move of their own accord as the air turned green all around them.  There was fear in the sorcerers eyes and he started throwing electricity against Alex’s barrier.  “I see a tasty soul in this one Alex.  Can we have it?” Frank said sadistically.  “My treat Frank” Alex said.  With a sudden swish of his hand Alex managed to manipulate the ground as six runes appears around his feet.  Each rune summoned a tentacle that dominated the sorcerer.  First by grabbing him around the ankles and then by grabbing his arms.  The sorcerer attempted to fightback with magic but the tentacles were impervious to magic of all sorts.  The sorcerer was almost finished as the fifth tentacle squeezed the sorcerers’ body sucking the air out of his body.  The sorcerer cried out in pain gasping for air as the sixth tentacle wiggled through the air and drilled down the sorcerer’s throat digging deep down into his body.  The sorcerer gagged on the tentacles as it continued the motion down into his intestines.  His body slowly began to deteriorate as the tentacle delved deeper and deeper.  Alex smiled at what many of the vampires considered to be a horrific sight in their eyes.  Many of the vampires were horrified at the sight and ran away in fear of strangulation.  Veronica did not avert her eyes but watched intently.  She had witnessed greater evils in the heat of battle and this did not seem to faze her disposition despite its graphic nature.  Alex laughed as he used the tentacle to suck the sorcerers’ soul away from him.  The soul screamed as it drifted through the air.  The sorcerers’ body dropped as his soul left his body completely.  Frank opened his mouth and began sucking in the sorcerer as he screamed in agony at the sight.  “Come to papa you unlucky b*****d” Frank said.  Frank laughed as he swallowed the sorcerers’ soul.  With a slurping sound Frank absorbed the energy and the tentacles went away.

Alex shut the grimoire and the green energy dissipated from the battlefield.  Alex was still a little wounded from the damage but he was easily safe from danger.  Alex was started walking back to the club before a sharp pain stung into his temple.  Fire spurted across the side of his body as he was drilled into the asphalt.  An entity of nearly all flames grabbed Alex’s unconscious body and lifting him into his arms.  The creature appeared to be a demon made of flaming stone.  Veronica looked out long enough to see what had happened.  Her eyes widened.  “Maliketh” She whispered.  Before she could react Maliketh shot a projectile fireball at the club that incinerated the building and everything around it before walking disappearing into the night.
