To a Bee

To a Bee

A Poem by Charlie's Enigmatic Wren

To a Bee

I saw one today, a tell-tale sign of Spring

a jolly great bumblebee

proudly sporting his sprightly best.

What joy to me this bee has brought,

displaying his black and gold fuzzy vest.

Bumbling about the garden,

with slow and pleasant bombination,

he considered the flowers, newly sprung.

In the freshest hues of green and pink,

blossoms unfolding, sweet and young.

I watched him traverse the garden,

browsing amongst the buds

alighting hither, alighting thither, alighting over yon.

In his peaceful crusade, my senses delighted,

so delicate and enigmatic, in his springtime liaison.

And it filled me with such optimism

for the bright warm days ahead

now, soon, I can put away my jumpers

those suited to brisk cold days,

to relish, like the bee, in Sol’s warm rays.

This reminds me so much of the summers we used to have here. I saw those bees and I remember the flowers and the silence. This is a light-hearted poem more should read.

Well done. :)
