Dancing With YouA Poem by Carrie Montgomery
as the music begins to play he draws me near and we begin to sway his arms around me, his eyes closed, he has no clue he doesn't know that I'm dancing with you his lips gentle upon my ear whispering of love, but I can't hear he tells me he loves me and I know that it's true but in my heart I am dancing with you the dance goes on and I play along but in my soul plays a different song I look at him and cannot help myself I wish silently that he was someone else My time with you didn't last the love we shared belongs in the past and I don't know what I am going to do 'cause in my dreams I am dancing with you he loves me, and his love is true but would he still love me if he knew that in the dreams and in my heart I am dancing, always dancing with you?
