Quick to Judge

Quick to Judge

A Poem by Carrie Montgomery
"

~ funny~

"

A crazy guy lives right next door-
Is he dangerous? I'm not sure.
His Mother brought him home today
From the hospital where he stayed.
"He is harmless" is Mom's claim
But he's stained now, I don't feel the same.
I'm uneasy to say the least
Is he a lamb or ferocious beast?
My children are bored and want to play.
Will I let them? It's hard to say.

Oh my goodness! He's looking at me.
In his eyes is it pain I see?
Is it anger or frustration?
Should I man the battle station?

Is that a signal of hatred and rage?
Have I done something to rattle his cage?

No wait, he stopped short...
I am embarrassed I must report:
He wasn't coming over here,
He only shifted to scratch his rear!
