I was a river dog, running wild and free...
Unless my Boy called for me.
From the very beginning, the seed of love was sown.
I claimed him for my very own
I was his playmate, his guardian, and friend.
We chased bad guys and we raced the wind.
I jumped on trampolines, and lay by his side.
I comforted him, In my fur he cried.
Swimming in the river, laying in the sun.
There was never an end to our laughing and fun.
My Boy and I shared so very much:
From romping in the grass, to a soft loving touch.
He was my heart, and I his.
But I must leave him for now.
That's just the way it is.
My Boy will be lonely and I know he will miss me.
But in His dreams I will always be.
I'll look for Him always, at Heaven's gate.
For Him I don't mind how long I must wait.
I'll sniff the wind and smell His heart.
And when He is to be 'led Home', I will do my part.
Boy, move on and live your life well.
So that when we meet again, you'll have stories to tell.
When you miss me too much, just sniff the wind-
Your memories will bring us together again.
I'll wait for you where the Angels sing.
We'll race the wind, but next time on wings.
In loving Memory of 'Leeah' who left this world March 2007, leaving her Boy behind.
