I Have an Angel

1st attempt at poetry over 13 yrs ago!!!

I wrote this poem 13 years ago! My cousin Whitney died of Cystic Fibrosis and before she passed she said she would be my unborn son's angel- this was my first attempt at poetry that I would actually share with others...



I am safe throughout the day-

while I nap and as I play

I have an angel so I'm told,

eyes of green and hair of gold



when I'm lain down at night,

I never cry or weep

I know she watches over me

and she gives me peaceful sleep

her gentle wings enfold me

through the night-

she doesn't leave 'til morning light



eyes of green and hair of gold

her name is Whitney, so I'm told
