A Baby's Laughter

A baby's laughter always makes me smile.

Each time I hear a baby's laughter
I feel a tickle in my heart.
I have to stop and listen better
Catching each note of musical art.
Such innocent laugh in joy released!
A soothing balm for a wearied soul,
All earthly worries seem to ease
A baby's laughter makes me whole!

I don't know which I like better--a baby laughing or a kitten purring. Either makes a beautiful picture. And when there are such things in the world, I can't understand why people would choose to write about cutting themselves or post pictures of their scars.

Even without looking into the background of the author, one can probably say that the poetic persona is a mother or, if not, someone who has already experienced rearing a baby.

the rhyme and rhythm are well constructed, and the subject matter is dear to my heart as a reader. "A soothing balm for a wearied soul" stands as my favorite line in this piece. well done.
