To Have A Child's Wonder

Oh to have a child's wonder again!
That gleeful innocence at discovery!
A natural bond at communication
With creatures of nature,  so easily.

It's that special kind of pristine link
That springs with joy for living things,
A child always loves,  he does not think
He seems to find beauty in everything!

I would,  if I could,  a child remain,
Then I would have eyes to treasure,
The wonders I'll keep,  none of the pain-
The bliss of life and a heart so pure!
