The Photograph

The Photograph

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

The old woman's photograph speaks
A thousand words in eloquence,
Read her eyes,  they may look weak
But the stories they tell are immense.

Trace the lines of life on her hand
They relate her toiling on this earth,
Perhaps by them we can understand
Her musings with age and her years' worth.

There may be a feeling of longing
For someone who's gone,  as one can perceive
An unspoken deep sadness that she's hiding
Or an expectation of the day she will leave.
