What Is The Point In Poetry?

Art in words that paints images in the mind Soothes the source and those that it may find. An honest work of heart,  its ink flows from Life's bottle Lines woven from the pain,  the joy,  and the struggle. As it is read,  that unseen bond connects Because a poem can touch one more than we expect. And there,  in touching it moves all of our being Mind, heart, and soul in harmony uniting. Such feat, if can be done by these mere words we sow Perhaps we may have found the way to peace, and yet we still don't know. Thank you Keith, I wrote this after a a news article in a poetry magazine stated that "Poetry is under pressure to justify its existence. Now more than ever in Germany and in Europe...." So I ask every poet now - do you need to justify your poetry, find reasons why you write from your heart?
