The Perils Of Our Passion

The Perils Of Our Passion

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

Words can get us killed
It's the perils of our passion,
When some powers could have willed
To grant us our assassination.

Yes, our poems can be deadly!
May irk enthroned politics,
Surprised they take us seriously-
We rock some boats so to speak!

But Poets' words can live
Beyond the grave, can't be buried -
Written on what we believe
Some truth there must have been carried.

Thank you Jack... I am glad you like it. The "powers that be" takes us seriously after all. :-)
