I Drink The Colors

I Drink The Colors

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

"What is it you want to say?"
The old man curtly asked.
"Don't color  Verses  gray,
With Darkness there unmasked.

There's too much of it around
To pain those who read you.
Bring Hope,   let Joy abound
Let words of Comfort through. "

I drained my pen of black ink,
Dipped vibrant hues I see.
Let my pen,  in colors,  drink
Light to bless abundantly.

Indeed, subjects multiplied!
In endless flow of Beauty
And Happiness supplied,
My pen at last was free!

Lovely. Poetry should colour not try to drown it in some black sea of ink.
