Tapestry

Tapestry

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

This tapestry of life
I seem to have woven in years
Show colors that have blended
Through all the laughter
And all the tears.

Displayed the missing answers
Each part connected dots
A masterpiece of life well lived
Hues of memories I forgot.

Imperfect though it may be
This tapestry will hold
A portrait of all that is me
The choices,  lessons - my story told.

It's interesting, the rain woke me at about two-fifteen this morning. Unable to return to sleep, I came here to read, perhaps place a line or two of my own to this electronic pen and paper. And I find on my list of poems to read, not one, but two, poems dealing with tapestry.

Even more odd, I had been quietly thinking about Carole King's Tapestry.
There has to be some kind of connection somewhere, don't you think?

Your poem is soft and easy and it flows and blends wonderfully, just as a finely woven tapestry should be. A warm reading.
Now, I'm off to listen to Carole King and wrap myself into her tapestry.

I often come to a new Cafe members page, read a few things before I find one I like and wish to comment on. Your butterfly caught my eye so I stopped here and don't need to read anything else. I see the work of someone who paints with colorful words and I understand what they say.

Thank you Sean, that's an encouragement I needed today.
