For My Lost Brother

For My Lost Brother

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

Suicide took your pain away
But left us with questions unanswered.
Mom did not know it till her dying day
But I'm sure silently,  she wondered.

Suicide is painless,  so says the song,
For the one who left, it could be.
But we have carried this grief for so long,
You must know how it's eating me.

Regrets like a replaying video
Of a story that had no valid end
Is like drowning in this inferno
Of an anguish refusing to mend.

What I'd give for a brief sort of discourse
There to ask you the reasons why
Of all choices you chose that recourse
All these years ...I continue to die.
